This bourbon spiked apple cider mimosa is the perfect way to start your Thanksgiving celebrations! Apple cider and champagne are balanced with bourbon's deep earthy sweetness, making this the best fall cocktail!

A Thanksgiving mimosa is the ideal way to celebrate this November! This is the best champagne mimosa because it switches out orange juice for apple cider and bourbon!

Two tulip champagne flutes rimmed with brown sugar and filled with apple cider mimosa. The cocktail is garnished with pomegranate seeds, apple slices, and rosemary.

    • Bourbon Spiked Apple Cider Mimosa

Why you will love this recipe:

I am a massive fan of holidays, and I love making celebratory recipes that bring a lovely sense of occasion (check out this Fall Sparkling Thanksgiving Margarita or Bourbon Apple Cider Old Fashioned)! This mimosa is just that! It's fun, bubbly, and full of fall flavor! I've had plenty of apple cider mimosas, but they always seemed too sweet and like they were missing something. It turns out bourbon was the missing ingredient because it adds depth so that the apple cider blends well with the champagne.

Ingredients for the apple cider mimosa on a brown table.

    Key Ingredients:

Bourbon: using a top-shelf and high-quality bourbon is key to a delicious-tasting drink. You can use any bourbon you like! I used Woodford Reserve for this recipe, but Knob Creek, Willett, or Angels Envy would also be good with these flavors.

Spiced Apple Cider: use your favorite apple cider! My go-to is Trader Joe's spiced cider.

Champagne or Prosecco: this wouldn't be a mimosa without champagne! Use any sparkling wine you like, but you want to purchase one with lots of bubbles.

    How to make this recipe:

Champagne flute on a brown table with bourbon being poured in

Start by rimming the champagne flutes with brown sugar. Then add 1 ounce of bourbon.

Apple cider being poured into the champagne flute.

    Followed by the apple cider.

Champagne being poured being poured into the cocktail.

Then top off with sparkling wine!

The mimosa garnished with apple slices, pomegranate seeds, and rosemary.

Garnish with apple slices, pomegranate seeds, and rosemary.

    Top tip

To achieve the sugar rim pictured, dip your finger or a pastry brush in simple syrup, honey, maple syrup, or agave and brush the sticky liquid into a long diamond shape one side of the glass.

    FAQ

What bourbon is best for this recipe?

Woodford Reserve, Willet Pot Still, Angels Envy, Knob Creek, and Four Roses Small Batch are all great options.

The kitchen was always the heart of our home, where we transformed vegetables into delightful dishes and crafted pies and cakes that emerged from the oven. This tradition of coming together through food and cooking inspired the name of my blog, The G&M Kitchen – 'G' for my father's family, the Giltners, and 'M' for my mother's family, the Millers.

I also believe if a recipe is missing something, it's probably bourbon.
