This blood-orange mocktail is a non-alcoholic treat made up of blood-orange juice, agave, mint, blood-orange Italian soda, and sparkling water! It's bubbly, tart, and fruity and is as complex and dynamic as a traditional cocktail but without any negative side effects!

This sparkling drink is a combination of a Blood Orange Paloma mocktail and a fruity spritzer! The blood orange, mint, and agave flavors go perfectly together and make an elevated and delicious mocktail!

Why you will love this recipe:

This cocktail is perfect for any time of year! It's perfect for summer but also for citrus season! Citrus season is November - March, and bright citrus fruits like grapefruit, oranges, and lemons bring some much-needed brightness to the chillier months!

Are you looking for more recipes for citrus season? Check out this lemon ricotta cheesecake and this blood orange upside-down cake.

It's also perfect for when you want a drink that feels like a cocktail but you prefer not to have any alcohol. This drink is delicate and balanced with notes of several flavors, just like a traditional cocktail! If this is more your jam, also check out this sparkling thyme and grapefruit mocktail.

    Key Ingredients:

Ingredients for a blood orange mocktail.

Blood Orange Juice: fresh squeezed is best, but a high-quality store-bought juice is also delicious!

Lime Juice: lime juice provides balance, mellows the grapefruit juice, and adds complexity to the drink.

Agave: this slightly sweetens the mocktail and provides a base to muddle the mint. You can also substitute for simple syrup or honey, but I love the flavor and consistency of agave.

Fresh Mint: fresh mint is sweet and cool and is the perfect herb to give depth and complexity to the blood orange!

Blood Orange Soda: this soda is made with blood orange juice and has just enough sweetener to mellow out the tartness of the fresh blood orange juice.

Sparkling Water: use your favorite brand of bubbly water to give the drink its effervescence.

    About Pate

Hi! I'm Pate, the blogger, recipe developer, and photographer behind The G&M Kitchen!

Raised in the heart of Kentucky, I come from a long line of passionate cooks and bakers. The kitchen was always the heart of our home, where we transformed vegetables into delightful dishes and crafted pies and cakes that emerged from the oven. This tradition of coming together through food and cooking inspired the name of my blog, The G&M Kitchen – 'G' for my father's family, the Giltners, and 'M' for my mother's family, the Millers.

I also believe if a recipe is missing something, it's probably bourbon.
