This bourbon slush with peach and hot honey is the ultimate cool and spicy treat for summer! It combines frozen peaches, bourbon, bitters, hot honey, basil, a dash of Tajin, and ice blended until smooth and creamy. It's peachy, spicy, and perfect for summer fun!

A Bourbon slush is a thing deal during summer here in Kentucky, and there are so many wonderful flavors available all summer, but my absolute favorite are the peach ones!  Peach and bourbon are the perfect pairing; their sweetness perfectly compliments each other. If peaches and bourbon are also a favorite of yours try this, Summer Bourbon Peach Smash, or this Bourbon Peach Old fashioned.

    • Bourbon Slush with Peach and Hot Honey

    Key Ingredients

The ingredients for the cocktail on a purple table.
    • Frozen Peaches: frozen peaches are best for achieving a smooth frozen texture. Fresh peaches will make more of a bourbon peach smoothie.
    • Hot Honey: spicy hot honey is the sweetener in this recipe. It adds a nice kick of chili pepper to the sweet peaches. My go-to is Mike's Hot Honey.
    • Basil: Fresh basil deepens the flavor of the peaches and adds just a slightly earthy flavor to the cocktail, giving it a sophisticated edge and setting this recipe above all the others.
    • Angostura bitters: These bitters contain a mix of warm spices that blend so well with the peaches and add complexity to the cocktail.
    • Tajin: Tajin is a blend of mild chili peppers, lime, and sea salt and adds a tiny kick of spice and acid to the slush.

    See recipe card for quantities.

    How to make this recipe:

    Blender container with frozen peaches.

Step 1: Add 1 cup of frozen peaches to a blender.

The blender container filled with the remaining ingredients minus the ice.

Step 2: Top with 2 ounces of bourbon, 3 dashes of Angostura bitters, 1 basil leaf, a large dash of Tajin, and ½ ounce of hot honey.

Ice has been added to the blender.

Step 3: Top with 1 ounce water and 1 cup ice.

The mixture in the blender after it has been blended.

Step 4: Blend until smooth and creamy.

The finished cocktail in a rocks glass and garnished with peaches, basil, and tajin.

Step 5: Pour into a glass and garnish with more tajin and basil.

    Expert Tips:

Suggested Barware: Use a jigger to measure your bourbon and honey accurately.

Add the honey after the other main ingredients but before the ice to ensure it gets fully incorporated and doesn't stick to the blender.

If the mixture is too thick, add a little bit more water.

    About Pate

Hi! I'm Pate, the blogger, recipe developer, and photographer behind The G&M Kitchen!

Raised in the heart of Kentucky, I come from a long line of passionate cooks and bakers. The kitchen was always the heart of our home, where we transformed vegetables into delightful dishes and crafted pies and cakes that emerged from the oven. This tradition of coming together through food and cooking inspired the name of my blog, The G&M Kitchen – 'G' for my father's family, the Giltners, and 'M' for my mother's family, the Millers.

I also believe if a recipe is missing something, it's probably bourbon.
