This sweet and warm bourbon peach old-fashioned is a delicious summer twist on the traditional old-fashioned. A lovely peach liqueur is combined with delicious bourbon and orange bitters. Garnish with fresh peach slices and mint!

This is the perfect twist on the old-fashioned for summer!

Two glasses of peach old fashioned's on a brown table with peach slices of to the sides.

Why you will love this recipe:

This is the perfect simple cocktail for summer if you are a fan of bourbon and peaches. I am a huge bourbon fan, and this is an alcohol-forward cocktail that truly celebrates the quality of the spirits used.

This is the perfect cocktail to use your premium bourbon in! It dresses it up for summer but is still bourbon forward.

Ingredients for a peach old fashioned lined up on a brown table.

    Key Ingredients:

Bourbon or whiskey: this is an alcohol-forward cocktail, so using premium spirits is key; I used my favorite bourbon that I usually drink neat, Willet Pot Still. But any premium bourbon will do!

Peach liqueur: same goes for the peach liqueur; using a high-quality liqueur is essential to compliment the bourbon. I use Mathilde in this recipe.

Orange Bitters: two dashes of bitters adds balance to the cocktail.

Ice: use a slow-melting large ice cube to reduce the amount of water that melts into the cocktail.

    2. Followed by 1 ounce of peach liqueur.
    3. Add 2 dashes of orange bitters.
    4. Stir, and then add ice.

    FAQ's

    What makes an Old Fashioned?

An Old Fashioned is traditionally made by muddling sugar and bitters together and then adding bourbon and garnishing with an orange slice and a cocktail cherry. This peach version omits the sugar and adds peach liqueur.

What bourbon is best for this recipe?

I used Willet Pot Still Reserve for this recipe, but Woodford Reserve, Angels Envy, and Four Roses Small Batch are other good options.
