Description

This sweet and warm peach old-fashioned is a delicious summer twist on the traditional old-fashioned.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Simple Syrup:

  • 2 fresh peaches sliced - or 2 cups frozen peaches
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp all spice

For the cocktail:

  • 1 1/2 ounces Bourbon
  • 1 1/2 ounces of peach simple syrup
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • Sliced peaches for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Make the simple syrup by combining all the ingredients in a medium pot.
  2. Simmer until the sugar has dissolved and the peaches are soft - about 20 minutes. Let cool, strain, and set aside.
  3. Add ice to an old-fashioned glass, then add the simple syrup, bourbon, and 2 dashes of bitters.
  4. Stir, garnish with peach slices, and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can add 1/2 ounce of peach liqueur to the cocktail for even more peach flavor.
  • Let the peaches simmer until they are soft. The longer you simmer them, the stronger the peach flavor will be.
  • Don't forget the garnish! The peach slices help to add more fresh peach flavor.
