This grapefruit mocktail is a non-alcoholic spin on the classic Paloma! It combines grapefruit juice, agave, thyme, and sparkling water for a bubbly, refreshing, and fruity drink! It's as complex and dynamic as a traditional cocktail but without any negative side effects!

This sparkling drink is a combination of a Paloma mocktail and a fruity spritzer! The grapefruit, thyme, and agave flavors go perfectly together and make an elevated and delicious mocktail!

Why you will love this recipe:

This cocktail is perfect for any time of year! It's perfect for summer but also for citrus season! Citrus season is November - March, and bright citrus fruits like grapefruit, oranges, and lemons bring some much-needed brightness to the chillier months!

    Key Ingredients

The ingredients for the cocktail on a pink tile table.

Grapefruit Juice: fresh squeezed is best, but a high-quality store-bought juice is also delicious!

Lime Juice: lime juice provides balance, mellows the grapefruit juice, and adds complexity to the drink.

Agave: this slightly sweetens the mocktail and provides a base to muddle the thyme. You can also substitute for simple syrup or honey, but I love the flavor and consistency of agave.

Fresh Thyme: fresh thyme is earthy, minty, and lemony and is the perfect herb to give depth and complexity to the grapefruit!

Sparkling Water: use your favorite brand of bubbly water to give the drink its effervescence.

    See recipe card for quantities.

    How to make this recipe:

The agave and thyme in a cocktail shaker.

Start by adding the agave and the leaves from the thyme sprigs to a cocktail shaker or glass.

A muddler sitting in the cocktail shaker.

Muddle the thyme into agave with a muddler or wooden spoon.

The grapefruit juice and lime juice in the shaker as well.

Add in the lime juice and grapefruit juice and shake or stir.

The mixed cocktail in a coupe glass.

Pour into a glass with ice (I like crushed) and top with sparkling water.

    About Pate

Hi! I'm Pate, the blogger, recipe developer, and photographer behind The G&M Kitchen!

Raised in the heart of Kentucky, I come from a long line of passionate cooks and bakers. The kitchen was always the heart of our home, where we transformed vegetables into delightful dishes and crafted pies and cakes that emerged from the oven. This tradition of coming together through food and cooking inspired the name of my blog, The G&M Kitchen – 'G' for my father's family, the Giltners, and 'M' for my mother's family, the Millers.

I also believe if a recipe is missing something, it's probably bourbon.
