This pickle gin and tonic is a refreshing pickley and bubbly cocktail for dill pickle lovers! Gin is the perfect spirit for the briney pickle juice and the tonic, and a little fresh dill and pink peppercorn really take this drink to the next level.

I love a gin cocktail, they are so refreshing and make great savory cocktails. This grapefruit olive oil martini is fabulous, and this pomegranate gin and tonic is a Halloween fave.

    Key Ingredients:

    • Gin: gin is the perfect spirit for pickle brine. I used French London dry style gin Esme with rose and cucumber notes, and it went so well with the dill flavors.
    • Tonic: my go-to tonic water is Fever Tree, but if you aren't a tonic fan, club soda also works.
    • Dill Pickle Brine and Pickle: I used Grillo's Pickles, but any brand works!
    • Fresh dill: A little fresh dill helps balance out the briney pickle.
    • Pink Peppercorns: Pink peppercorns are slightly sweet and mild in spiciness and add just a slight oompf in flavor.

    See recipe card for quantities.

    How to make this drink:

Pink peppercorns and dill in a tonic glass.
    1. Step 1: Start by adding 1 sprig of fresh thyme and a pinch of ground pink peppercorns to a glass.
Gin has been added to the glass and a muddler is sitting in it.
    1. Step 2: Top with 2 ounces of gin and muddle the dill.
The pickle brine has been added to the glass.
    1. Step 3: Top with 1 ½ ounces of pickle brine.
Ice, tonic, and pickles have been added to the drink.
    1. Step 4: fill the glass with ice and top it with 2-3 ounces of tonic water. Then garnish with more fresh dill and a pickle.

    Tips for success:

Suggested Barware: Use a jigger to measure your bourbon and syrup accurately. Also, using a cocktail stirrer is beneficial because it fits so well around the ice.

Use your favorite brand of pickles!

You can leave out the pink peppercorns if you are unable to locate them.

    About Pate

Hi! I'm Pate, the blogger, recipe developer, and photographer behind The G&M Kitchen!

Raised in the heart of Kentucky, I come from a long line of passionate cooks and bakers. The kitchen was always the heart of our home, where we transformed vegetables into delightful dishes and crafted pies and cakes that emerged from the oven. This tradition of coming together through food and cooking inspired the name of my blog, The G&M Kitchen – 'G' for my father's family, the Giltners, and 'M' for my mother's family, the Millers.

I also believe if a recipe is missing something, it's probably bourbon.
