The truffle oil and bourbon bring luxurious, silky depth, while the tomato syrup offers natural sweetness, acidity, and that distinct savory balance. Finished with a dash of orange bitters, it’s a flavor bomb that works just as well before dinner as it does with a cheese board or hearty meal.

    🥘 Key Ingredients:

    • Truffle-Washed Bourbon: Bourbon fat-washed with truffle oil, then chilled and strained for a subtle, silky, earthy finish.
    • Tomato Simple Syrup: A rich and savory syrup made from simmered cherry tomatoes and brown sugar.
    • Orange Bitters: Adds brightness and balance to cut through the richness.

    See recipe card for quantities.

🥂 How to make this recipe:

Truffle fat washed bourbon in a mason jar.
    1. Step 1: Start by making the fat-washed bourbon. Add ¼ cup truffle oil and 1 ½ cups bourbon to a mason jar. Seal, shake, and let sit at room temperature for 1 hour, then chill for 24 hours. After 24 hours, strain.
Cherry tomatoes, water, and brown sugar in a glass pot.
    1. Step 2: Next, make the tomato syrup by combining 2 cups of cherry tomatoes, 2 cups of water, and 1 cup of brown sugar in a small pot. Cover and simmer until the tomatoes are soft and bursting. Use a spatula or spoon to press all the remaining juice out of the tomatoes. Uncover and let simmer 30 minutes more. Finally, let the mixture cool, then strain through a fine mesh strainer.
All the ingredients in a rocks glass and being stirred with a bar spoon.
    1. Step 3: Make the cocktail by combining 2 ounces of the truffle oil bourbon, 1 ounce of the tomato syrup, and 1 dash of orange bitters.

    About Pate

Hi! I'm Pate, the blogger, recipe developer, and photographer behind The G&M Kitchen!

Raised in the heart of Kentucky, I come from a long line of passionate cooks and bakers. The kitchen was always the heart of our home, where we transformed vegetables into delightful dishes and crafted pies and cakes that emerged from the oven. This tradition of coming together through food and cooking inspired the name of my blog, The G&M Kitchen – 'G' for my father's family, the Giltners, and 'M' for my mother's family, the Millers.

I also believe if a recipe is missing something, it's probably bourbon.
