Description

This blood orange spritz, aka the burned and bloody spritz, is the perfect cocktail for Halloween or for watching Game of Thrones! It's full of bubble blood orange flavor and smoked rosemary!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 oz Prosecco
  • 3 oz Blood Orange Italian Soda
  • 1/2 oz Aperol
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine
  • 1 sprig rosemary

Instructions

  1. Add the prosecco to a large wine glass with ice.
  2. Add in the blood orange soda, Aperol, and grenadine.
  3. Take a sprig of rosemary and light the end with a kitchen torch or lighter. Let it burn, then insert it into the cocktail.
  4. Optional: Make caramelized blood orange slices. Sprinkle 1 tsp sugar on a blood orange slice and burn with a torch until caramelized.

Notes

Slightly dry rosemary is ideal for smoking. Leave the rosemary out overnight or heat it in the oven at a low temp to dry it out. Then light the end, let it burn a little, and insert it into the drink for a wonderful smokey flavor.
