This spiced cranberry old fashioned is the perfect fruity and cozy spin on the old fashioned cocktail. It combines fresh cranberry juicecinnamon simple syruporange bitters, and your favorite bourbon for the perfect Christmas or winter cocktail


Units Scale


  • 1 1/2 ounces Bourbon
  • 1 oz cinnamon simple syrup
  • 2 oz pure cranberry juice (no sugar added and no cranberry cocktail)
  • 1 dash of orange bitters


Cinnamon Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • About 8 cinnamon sticks


  1. Make the cinnamon syrup by combining the sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks in a small pot and heat on medium until the sugar has melted. Set aside and let cool, then strain.
  2. Add a large ice cube to an old fashioned glass and top with the bourbon.
  3. Pour in the cranberry juice and cinnamon syrup.
  4. Add the orange bitters, garnish, and serve.


  • Do not let the simple syrup come to a boil, but gently cook
