This hot honey strawberry bourbon smash is the perfect cocktail for hot honey lovers or for those who love a bit of spice in their drinks! It perfectly combines fresh strawberries, fresh basil, hot honey, and bourbon. This is also one of those cocktails; the longer it sits, the better it gets!

Ingredients

  • 1 1-2 oz bourbon 
  • 2-3 sliced strawberries (slightly more than 1/3 cup)
  • 1/4- 1/2 oz hot honey 
  • 1-2 basil leaves 

Instructions

  1. Add the sliced strawberries and two basil leaves to a rocks glass. Top with 1/4 - 1/2 ounce of hot honey. Depending on your level of spice. 
  2. Thoroughly muddle so that the strawberries are almost all liquid.
  3. Top with 1 1/2 ounce bourbon and ice and stir well.
  4. Stir thoroughly so that the muddled strawberries are well distributed and do not stay at the bottom of the glass.
  5. Garnish with fresh strawberries and more basil.
