For the syrup:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 ground cloves
- 1 cup water.
For the cocktail:
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1/2 ounce gingerbread syrup
- 2 dashes of orange bitters
- 1 dash aromatic bitters
Instructions
- Start by making the gingerbread syrup by mixing 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup molasses, 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 2 tsp ground ginger, 1 tsp allspice, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, and 1 cup water. Bring to a simmer, let cook for 10-15 minutes then let cool and strain.
- Next, add 2 ounces of bourbon, 1/2 ounce of gingerbread syrup, 2 dashes of orange bitters, and 1 dash of aromatic bitters.
- Stir to combine and garnish with an orange.
