Description

This Spiced Pumpkin & Pecan Old-Fashioned is your ultimate fall cocktail! It brings together two of the season’s most iconic flavors: pumpkin butter for cozy, spiced sweetness and a homemade spiced pecan syrup made with toasted pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon.


Ingredients

Spiced Pecan Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 4 cinnamon sticks

Cocktail

  • 1 bar spoon pumpkin butter
  • 1/2 ounce spiced pecan syrup
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 2 dashes of chocolate bitters

Instructions

  1. Simmer 1 cup water, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup pecans, and  4 cinnamon sticks over medium heat for 10–15 minutes. Let steep off the heat for another 10 minutes, then strain and cool. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  2. Add ice to a mixing glass and top with 1 bar spoon of pumpkin butter, 1/2 ounce spiced pecan syrup, 2 ounces bourbon, and 2 dashes bitters. Stir to combine. 
  3. Pour into a rocks glass with ice and top with shaved chocolate.
  4. Finish with 3 pecans.
