Description

Who doesn't love a sweet gooey s'more around a campfire in the summer or fall? Well, this s'more old fashioned takes all those flavors and turns them into a delicious bourbon cocktail

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the syrup:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla

For the cocktail:

  • 1 1/2 ounce bourbon
  • 3/4 ounce syrup
  • 1 dash angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes of chocolate bitters
  • Shaved chocolate
  • Toasted marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Start by making the syrup by combining 1/4 cup honey, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 3 cinnamon sticks, and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Heat on medium until the sugar has melted, then remove from heat and add 1 tsp of vanilla. Let cool then strain.
  2. Add a large ice cube to a rocks glass, then top it with 1 1/2 ounces of bourbon (you can also make this in a mixing glass, then pour it into a rocks glass with ice once mixed).
  3. Top with 3/4 ounces of the syrup, then 1 dash Angostura bitters and 2 dashes chocolate bitters. Stir to combine.
  4. Toast 2 marshmallows and garnish the drink.

Notes

Store the leftover syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks.

Toast the marshmallows on a heat-safe stick with a kitchen torch on medium-low for quick and easy toasted marshmallows.
