This iconic and retro cocktail combines bourbon with a sweet and spicy cinnamon butter batter and is all melted together in hot water.

For the batter:
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground clove
- 1/8 ground nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp allspice
For the cocktail:
- 1 1/2 -2 tablespoons spiced butter
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 6 ounces very hot water
Instructions
- Start by making the batter. Beat the butter, spices, sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, and spices together until well blended and fluffy.
- Then start boiling your water.
- Add 1 1/2 -2 tablespoons batter to a heat-proof glass.
- Top with the hot water and stir until the butter has melted.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick or top with whipped cream.
Notes
High-fat European style butter is highly recommended.
