Description
This candied pecan old fashioned is so decadent, delicious, and absolutely full of pecan flavor! It's made with a candied pecan simple syrup with pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon that simmered until the syrup achieves a punch of pecan flavor.

For the syrup:
- 2 cups pecans
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
For the cocktail:
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1/2 ounce candied pecan syrup
- 2 dashes black walnut bitters
- 1 dash smoked cinnamon bitters
Instructions
- Make the candied pecan simple syrup by simmering 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup water, 5 cinnamon sticks, and 2 cups pecans for 30 minutes. Let cool then strain.
- Then, add ice to an old fashioned glass and top with 2 ounces bourbon.
- Next, top with 1/2 ounce pecan syrup, 2 dashes of black walnut bitters, and 1 dash of smoked cinnamon bitters.
- Stir to combine and garnish with a candied pecan.
Notes
Syrup can be kept in the fridge for up to two weeks.
